About

Me, after an Inktober

At eleven years old, I started programming games in BASIC. For most of the time since, I've been an exclusive Linux user, and have created spanning full-stack web development, web crawling, AWS infrastructure automation, game development with C and SDL2, static websites for small business, price comparisons of mutual fund price histories, cross-compiling software for a 2009 Kindle, and my own web build tooling.

I'm also an ink illustrator, and have worked on a webcomic, and finished three Inktobers.

Programming languages and Technologies

My current preferred language is Go, but I also work frequently in Javascript. Python is my go-to data-science language, and I have a recent project in Perl. My favorite language I don't use is Forth.

As I build projects, I to deploy them to AWS, but believe that software should be modular enough to where specific infrastructure dependencies or configurations are optional.

Vim is my preferred text editor (I haven't yet made the switch to Neovim). I use Linux exclusively, to the point that I find Windows and OSX confusing from disuse. My distro is a very boring Arch Linux setup with Openbox and tint2.

Illustration

Outside of computers, another personal interest of mine is illustration, although I have not been as active in this over the last couple years. Luckily, it only takes a couple hours of timed gesture drawings to get back into the swing of things!
